  • In development?....

    Hi all,
apologies if this is not the right place to be asking but i am relatively new to John Tiller games but am picking them up as quickly as i can. Im just wondering what the development/release schedule is and what new releases and/or updates are in the pipeline?
    Cheers, Dave

    Hi Dave,

Welcome to the forum. Let me know if you need help getting plugged into the on-line community. This forum is really sort of a back water hub, so not much happening here. This page has a few links to get you going: http://www.johntillersoftware.com/Resources.php

As to your question, JTS doesn't really talk about what is in the works, because generally we have extremely long development cycles - and sharing info just stirs people up and creates questions to be answered - which then diverts energies away from further development...a vicious cycle. ;-) Just know that more games and updates are in the works, and everything is released as soon as possible - when we are sure it is stable and ready for prime time.

(Got your email at the Support account too, but I'll let this answer suffice for that.)

Many thanks for the reply Rich, its reassuring to know that theres more releases in the works. I appreciate the long development cycles to have a stable release, especially when most game developers these days happily release unfinished/broken games and expect the punter to fund DLC's which should've been in-game content already (don't get me started!).

As I say I'm a newcomer to the JTS games, really enjoy them and am snapping them up quick as I can. Is there an archive somewhere of fan-made scenario's?

Thanks again for the speedy reply
      Cheers, Dave

Yeah, we are definitely not "normal" in the development world... no one else supports their games as long as we do, for free... and the people that like our style of games definitely appreciate us standing by them, and do so in return.

Be sure to check out the discount pricing info here - https://john-tiller-software.myshopify.com/blogs/news

The Scenario Design Center - http://hist-sdc.com/ - would be a first stop for custom add on's, and if you are getting into the Squad Battles games then definitely check out TFE4 - https://tfe4.wordpress.com/

And really, if you haven't already, you need to get involved with Play By Email, as that's where the games really shine. Links to various clubs are on the page I posted above.
